Position Summary

This position is responsible for setting up and operating a semi-automatic press according to written and/or verbal instructions, established by company procedures, safety and quality guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position is primarily, yet not exclusively responsible and accountable for the following:

  • Reading Job Ticket to verify quantity to be run, overrun tolerance, color sequence and paper stock
  • Verifying size, color and type of substrate, as well as color of ink from Job Ticket
  • Obtaining and checking screens, squeegee and related supplies to produce job
  • Setting up press by installing screens, squeegee, flood bar, and by registering stock to press and screen image, setting up feeder, take off and stackers
  • Setting dryer for proper drying or curing
  • Printing proof sheets, checking registration and color matches against the Job Ticket and securing the Manager’s approval prior to the production run
  • Collecting production run samples as required
  • Directing work to assigned Press Helper
  • Training Press Helper to operate press
  • Ensuring quality assurance by continuous inspection of job specifications
  • Adhering to all SOP’s, Safety, PPE, Productivity and 6s requirements
  • Performing and completing all other work duties as assigned to include helping in other departments as needed

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required; two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Basic Computer skills.

Must have good judgment of color, design, layout and print specifications.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to one on one and small group situations to customers, clients , managers and other employees in the organization.

Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions from both written and oral communications. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
