CUTTING POSITIONS SECOND SHIFT

KDM P.O.P. Solutions Group, founded in 1970, and has grown to be one of the nation’s most prominent point-of-purchase (P.O.P.) printing and fulfillment companies. KDM offers screen, offset, and digital printing in a variety of substrate materials with an array of inks and specialty coatings. We also have a dedicated kitting and fulfillment department that can handle the most complex campaigns. KDM P.O.P. Solutions Group is currently seeking a Cutting Operator on 2nd shift. Must be available to work overtime and flexible start times.

Position Summary

The Cutting Operator runs various machines in the cutting department to a level that meets or exceeds department expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position is primarily, yet not exclusively responsible and accountable for the following:

  • Having operational knowledge of all equipment in the area of responsibility to include drill press, panel saw, table saw, radial arm saw, heat bender, die cutter, I cut, guillotine cutter, sheeter, router, scoring table, drill table and slitter.
  • Completing pre and post cuts on material within tolerance level
  • Reading job tickets thoroughly and interpreting before starting the job task, and understand the job task
  • Cutting each piece of material within QC requirements
  • Inspecting each piece for Quality Control
  • Performing and completing all tasks assigned in a timely manner
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working area at all times
  • Storing all materials in a manner that promotes cleanliness
  • Using supplies in a cost-effective manner
  • Adhering to all productivity, SOP’s, safety, 6S and PPE requirements
  • Performing and completing all other work duties assigned to include assisting in other departments as needed

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Basic computer knowledge.

Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

Have a working knowledge of computer functions for equipment set up and job costing.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions from both written and oral communications. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes, hazardous chemicals, and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Exposure to extreme heat and cold temperatures can occur daily.
